King & Conqueror is coming in 2025

The BBC’s previously-announced period drama King & Conqueror, starring James Norton (Happy Valley), has confirmed a 2025 release window along with some first-look images of the cast.
The new official stills reveal Norton in costume as his character Harold, Earl of Wessex. Also seen in the pictures is Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who is playing William, Duke of Normandy.

Emily Beecham also features in the teaser images as Edith Swan-neck, along with Clémence Poésy who is playing a character called Matilda.
King & Conqueror focuses on a specific point in history, with the story revolving around Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy; two men that were destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
The synopsis describes them as being “two allies with no design on the British throne” who then suddenly “found themselves forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war for possession of its crown.”
The eight-part series also has a number of other cast members attached, including Eddie Marsan (Back to Black) who will play King Edward, and Juliet Stevenson who is taking on the role of Lady Emma.
Luther Ford (Black Doves), Jason Forbes (Prime Video’s My Lady Jane), Industry‘s Indy Lewis, Elander Moore (Interview with a Vampire) and Elander Moore (Netflix’s KAOS) also star.
