The has shared a behind-the-scenes secret, revealing she spends her downtime on set cooking for the crew.
During a recent appearance on Alison revealed that she’ll often whip up some of her “special” brownies and other tasty treats when there are hours to kill.
“I just love doing the show. I mean, what people don’t know is behind the scenes, when I’m a bit bored and we’ve got, like, a couple of hours to kill, I’ll go and cook a banana bread, or I’ll do some chocolate brownies – my special ones with the Daim bars in, which are really chewy and delicious, by the way,” she said.
“I’ll give you the recipe after! But basically, I cook for the crew and everything like that. So that’s quite a nice little thing that I do.”
The presenter also discussed the hilarious moment she took a tumble and fell off the counter when trying to bring “happiness” to the bakers, noting her “career started off breaking a bench on Big Brother“.
“I realised benches have a significance in my life. I think that day I was just showing off, and I think I told all the cameras, ‘Watch me, I’m going to show you my leg kick!'” she shared.
“But I didn’t think when I leant back that there was going to be no bench. So, when I leant back, there was no bench, and then my body kept going!”
Alison continued: “All I can remember kicking into is I used to be able to do cartwheels, so I caught myself by doing a cartwheel and went off the bench. But the shame. I have never experienced such shame like it! And I just wanted to disappear.
“That was one of those moments I wanted the ground to eat me up, and it didn’t! I was like, ‘Leave me my pit of shame!'”
The 2024 series of Bake Off came to an end last month, with Georgie Grasso named as its winner.
“Can’t believe that I’ve won it. It’s just incredible,” she said after her triumph. “It just means everything, I’ve been so self-doubtful… but for once, I thought, ‘I’m just gonna go for it.'”
