Nugget has a guilty conscience…
Watch: EastEnders Soap Scoop! Phil makes a huge decision
Nish Panesar faked his death on EastEnders as he sought revenge on his ex-wife Suki and her new partner, Eve Unwin.
Nish returned to Walford earlier this month after he escaped prison, with only his grandson Nugget knowing his location as he hid away in an abandoned flat.
Nugget has been regularly bringing him food and drink, though Monday’s (December 30) began with Nish texting his grandson regarding his whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Suki and Eve – who were happily preparing for their wedding – got some bad news from the police as they relayed that Nish had been spotted in Walford. Fearing for their safety, Suki made the decision to postpone the ceremony.
Nugget eventually left the house and informed Nish that law enforcement knew he was in the area. This forced his hand, with the villain manipulating his grandson into getting the police “off his scent.”
After Nugget expressed concern about continuing with the plan, Nish manipulated him further by hinting that he would hand himself in. The tactic worked, with Nugget agreeing to help his grandfather again.
The plan was revealed as the police informed the family that a man matching Nish’s description had been seen plunging into the river, though Suki expressed doubt that her ex-husband was gone.
After a heartfelt conversation with Yolande, Suki reversed her decision regarding the wedding and informed Eve that they would go ahead on their original date, sharing that she wanted to embrace love and not cower in fear.
Her fears regarding Nish were correct, however, with the villain very much alive as Nugget met him once more. The teenager shared his feelings of guilt in the whole affair, with Nish looking ominous as he remarked that he would be ending things on “[his] own terms.”
