A clash with David spirals out of control

Coronation Street‘s Adam Barlow suffers a dangerous fall down a set of stairs on Christmas Day.
Adam could be badly injured as a showdown with David Platt goes terribly wrong.
Viewers know that Adam is covering for David’s wife Shona after she recently cheated on him with Kit Green.
Shona turned to Adam for some friendly support after sleeping with Kit in a hotel room, although she didn’t give away the identity of her mystery man.
Upcoming episodes see Shona and Adam have another secretive conversation over the situation when he spots them together.
In the build-up to Christmas, David continues to pursue the mistaken theory that Shona is having an affair with Adam.
On Christmas Eve, Debbie Webster tries to convince Shona to attend her New Year’s Eve party at the Chariot Square Hotel.
Shona insists that she isn’t interested, but Debbie points out that she seemed to be enjoying the hotel well enough when she visited a few nights ago.
David overhears the tail end of this conversation and wonders what Debbie is referring to.
On Christmas Day, David opens his presents but smells a rat when Shona fails to hand over an aftershave that he’d found in her bag.
Adam then turns up at the Platt house wearing some strong aftershave himself, which he reveals was a Christmas present.
With the cogs whirring, David decides that it’s time to get some firm answers and he invites Adam to join him for a birthday drink.
Adam happily enjoys some whisky, unaware that David is staying sober by drinking water.
By the time David’s worried family track him down, he’s already bitterly accusing Adam of sleeping with Shona.
As the bust-up turns physical, Adam tumbles down the stairs. Will he be okay?
