Eve Unwin had a lucky escape on EastEnders as Nish Panesar attempted to enact revenge on her and Suki.

The villain returned to Walford earlier this month after escaping from prison, with the character seeking revenge on his ex-wife, Suki, and her new partner, Eve, after the breakdown of his own marriage.

The schemer, who is suffering from ill health, has hidden away in an abandoned flat as he stayed in the shadows, though he had to enlist the help of grandson Nugget to have him retrieve supplies to build his strength.

Monday’s (December 30) episode saw the police close in on his location, with the villain faking his death in order to throw them off the trail. Suki, however, thought there could be a sting in the tail, but vowed to go ahead with her wedding celebrations regardless.

Tuesday’s (December 31) New Year’s Eve instalment saw the happy couple celebrate their bond, though Nish was in a scheming mood as he saw the night as a perfect opportunity to enact revenge.

As Suki and Eve headed outside of the bar, Nish could be seen lurking in the shadows as he looked on in envy. After they went back inside, the villain – who was earlier seen holding a knife – attempted to lure Eve out by telling the bouncer that she had a package waiting for her.

After Eve headed out and towards a dark alley, an armed Nish was ready to pounce, but her life was saved as Mo Harris arrived on the scene and inadvertently thwarted his plan – at least for the time being.

As he returned to his squalor, a weary Nish was informed by his accomplice and doctor that he had likely suffered a small heart attack. This wouldn’t deter him from his evil plan, though, as he booked a taxi to the wedding venue for the following day, confirming that he “wouldn’t need” a return journey.
