Congratulations!
Former Coronation Street star Sacha Parkinson has announced that she is expecting her first child with her fiancé John.
The actor, who played Sian Powers in the ITV soap between 2009 and 2011, shared the exciting news on Instagram last week (December 24).
The clip began with a Polaroid image of her dog sitting next to her pregnancy scan, before Parkinson placed a selection of other pictures alongside it.
They included one of the star showing off her growing bump in front of a Christmas tree, and another of herself holding a white newborn romper.
“Merry Christmas Eve, Huns,” the post’s caption read. “I have a feeling next year’s is going to be a wild one.”
Several of Parkinson’s former Corrie co-stars took to the comments section to share their well wishes, with Faye Windass actor Ellie Leach writing: “Soooooo excited.”
Brooke Vincent, who played Parkinson’s on-screen love interest Sophie Webster, commented: “I love you all so much!!” with Rosie Webster actor Helen Flanagan similarly writing: “So happy for you darling.”
Parkinson appeared in 206 episodes of Corrie over two years, with her character Sian quickly becoming friends with Sophie Webster.
Sian and Sophie later became the soap’s first lesbian couple, with the pair set to tie the knot. However, Sophie ran away at the altar, as she felt guilty for kissing Amber Kalirai.
After learning about the kiss, a heartbroken Sian decided to move away from Weatherfield to live with her mum Janet in Southport.
Parkinson has since starred in several British dramas, including Casualty, The Mill, My Mad Fat Diary, The Driver, Safe House and Cold Feet.
