Oceans 11 star Scott L. Schwartz has died at the age of 65. It’s been confirmed that Schwartz, who starred in Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy as Bruiser, died of congestive heart failure on November 26 at his home in Covington, Louisiana (via Variety).

George Clooney, who starred alongside Schwartz in the hit heist movies, has led the tributes.

“I’m sorry to hear that Scott is gone,” he said in a statement. “We did three films together and I’ve never been so gently punched. He was a gentle soul and he will be dearly missed.”

A representative for Schwartz added: “Those who know Scott personally associated him with being a jolly person, so full of life, a strong loving person, foodie and travel aficionado.

“Scott truly loved life and everyone that he met along the way. When he wasn’t acting, wrestling or telling jokes he spent his time visiting children with cancer at children’s hospitals.”

Schwartz began his career as a professional wrestler, before venturing into film and TV. He made his Ocean’s debut as Bruiser in the 2001 first instalment, going on to reprise the role in Ocean’s 12 (2004) and Ocean’s 13 (2007).

Aside from the Ocean‘s trilogy, Schwartz’s acting credits include The Scorpion King, Charmed, Star: Trek: EnterpriseBuffy the Vampire Slayer, Fun with Dick and Jane and Starsky & Hutch.

Meanwhile, it was reported in September that another Ocean‘s movie is moving forward with George Clooney and Brad Pitt, who are set to reprise their respective roles as Danny Ocean and Rusty Ryan.

Clooney previously said that there is “a really good script” for another instalment, though it wouldn’t be called Ocean’s 14. An Ocean‘s 11 prequel film is also in works, set to star Barbie actors Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Danny Ocean’s parents.
